Grab Bag & Retiring Tag Sale has started!

Welcome to our biggest sale of the YEAR! That’s right, to clear out and make some room for our incoming new designs that we will be releasing at summer CHA, we are having a huge sale!

We have a limited number of grab bags for sale for $15 each – all grab bags include a $40 retail value mix of ES items (including newer and older items, and some bags include the extra limited edition stamps we had left over from our Project Kits, too! But, EXCLUDING all items that were just released for summer) AND other items from other manufacturers that we love! We can insure you that there will be no duplicate items in each grab bag, but if you purchase more than one grab bag, you may receive duplicates in the multiple bags. ALSO, a couple of grab bags we've packed extra full, so instead of a $40 retail value, they have a retail value of $60+!

Because these have to be shipped in larger boxes, we are also giving you a SUPER deal on shipping! You only have to pay shipping for the first grab bag - when you purchase 2, 3 or 4, those extra bags ship for FREE! We have made multiple listings for one, two, three or four grab bags, and which ever you choose, they ALL ship for the same amount! (Please note: we can only fit four bags in each box, so if you are ordering more than four, you will have to pay separate shipping charges).

These grab bags are while supplies last - we only have a limited number on hand!

Did you see this TINY sneak peek we posted while packing one of the grab bags on instagram yesterday?
It's a tiny peek compared to what else is going in these bags ;) If you aren't following us on instagram, make sure you do! Our username is: ellesstudio and we are always posting fun things!

And, don't forget about the BIG retiring tag sale:
Get 70% off all retiring tags with coupon code 70sale - this sale ends Sunday night at midnight PST or while supplies last - some of the items we are very low on, so don't delay if you see something you want!

Project Life

This week's Project Life covers the week of June 4- 10.

I challenged myself this week to focus on different number themes that were present during this particular week.  I used various chipboard number pieces throughout the spread to highlight those numbers.

For instance, I highlighted that this week was my dad's sixtieth birthday and that we had a three hour birthday dinner to celebrate.   I also noted how many times I had to take my kids to the paint store, the fact we had our first splash pad visit of the summer, and that we all took a THREE hour nap that sunday (rare!).

It is fun to try something different and highlight parts of your week through numbers.  A few other ways you could do this would be documenting time--what you do at certain times of the day.  You could document the number of miles to and from work, how long you sleep at night, how many texts you receive in one day.  These are just a few ideas, and the ideas are really endless.  Numbers are a great way to offer a glimpse of your everyday life in Project Life!

Congrats to Margie, you won last week's giveaway! Please email michelle@shopellesstudio.com the following info to claim your prize:

Our June Inspiration Gallery is LIVE!

Summer is here and so is some new inspiration from our design team! You must check out what they put together for our June gallery - which is also their last gallery for their six month term with us :(  So, make sure you log in, too, and leave them lots and lots of love! Don't forget, you can also click the "love this" button and it will bookmark the layout or project for you (you can view everything you bookmarked in your profile), so you can find it later when you need that extra boost of inspiration!

This was such a fabulous team to work with each month and I was continually amazed at everything they did - they where always able to inspire me! I'll be forever grateful for the six months I got to spend with them!

Also, wait until you see who our special guest is this month! She is one of my scrap idols because she has such an amazing way with layers - I consider her layouts a work of art! We'll be learning more about our special guest later next week!

And... look for another Design Team Gallery Treasure Hunt in the coming weeks, too! We are changing the rules to the hunt, so you have a better chance to win, too!

Happy Friday, everyone!

Sketch Thursday

Hello and happy summer everyone! We have another fun sketch for you today.

On my layout I stamped the chevron multiple times, in different colors and directions. I then cut and pop dotted some of the arrows for dimmension.

The large journaling tag was a perfect background for my picture (and tile!). My journaling is hiding behind the picture :)
ES supplies: Summer Lovin' Large Journaling Tag, Summer Lovin' Tidbits

Life is so Very Grand: Step-By-Step with Jenni

Jenni's put together a fun layout and step-by-step using products from our Summer Lovin' line! Here's how this layout came together:
To create this layout, I started with the aqua card stock found in the Here & Now Exclusive Kit.  I splattered the card stock with Mr Huey Calico white mist using the bottle tube and dripping it over the page.

I then created three different sections of layered tags on the card stock.
I then began to add small photos in the layered portions created.  I kept the top tag empty for my journaling.  (the top tag is a large Summer Lovin' 4x6 journaling tag cut in half)

I used the Crate Paper Tomorrow pattern paper as a layering piece beneath my tags.  I also hand cut the polaroid print out of Studio Calico Numerical paper to use for my photos (both of these pattern papers are found in the Here & Now kit).  I trimmed my wallet sized photos to fit into each polaroid spot.   I added strips of Hambly overlay under neath my wallet photo of my family, and bits of washi tape here and there.

Now is when I begin to "build" each of the three sections with more layers.   I keep adding until i feel it looks right.   Here are close ups of each section:

The title and three small photos:
Once I mounted the photos onto the Polaroids, I added my title work with the Pink Paislee Wood Chip alphas (found in our Love Story kit).  I tied a small piece of bakers twine round the last letter.   The small black alphas are by Basic Grey and can be found in our shop.  I also added a Summer Lovin' tidbit to the side of the journaling tag.   I always add staples as the last finishing touch!

The family photo:
I layered this piece by cutting the chevron shape out the the My Minds Eye paper in the Here and Now kit and layering it with tags from the Summer Lovin' Note Tags.  I added a Studio Calico badge, wooden embellishment, and staples!

Journaling Spot:
I kept this fairly simple but just including my journaling, and adding a Summer Lovin' Tidbit, washi, and small alpha stickers for the date.

Finishing Touches:
Once completed I added three chipboard butterflies made by Studio Calico to off-set the three sections of photos and layering.  I also added some black mist (dripped).

Project Life

This week's Project Life covers the week of May 28- June 3.

This week we were on vacation in Michigan!   We also went to a family wedding on our way home from Michigan, so it made for an FULL week in my Project Life album.

I tried not to get too focused on placing events in chronological order.  I tend to lean towards what looks best--- so I placed the wedding program in the center of my layout (even though it occurred at the end of the week).  It looked best there, and didn't get lost in the mix, so I went with it!

On the left side I used many photos that were taken on the same day.  As you can see from the small weather photo, the temperature dipped dramatically in the middle of our trip so all of our lake photos were on the same day.

A while ago I picked up a pack of doilies at the grocery store, I decided to use one of the doilies and place it in the center of the wedding program.  I journaled a bit about this being our vacation week which ended in a family wedding.

On the back of the program I journaled a bit about some of my favorite moments about the wedding (especially the moments I don't have photos for).

After the wedding program, I included a second insert.  It's actually one of Becky Higgin's Project Life Design A pages cut in half.  I trimmed the far right smaller pocket so I could have an Elle's Studio Handmade Layers small circle tag peeking out.  I then stitched the pocket back together.

On the backside of the insert I included an enlargement of a sunrise photo at the lake.  I printed the photo as an 8x12, trimmed it down a bit, and placed it vertically in my layout.

Aside from the wedding program, I also included the wedding menu and packaging from a shopping trip in Michigan.  Documenting a week of vacation is a lot of fun!!  To keep it from being overwhelming (especially if there are many photos) remind yourself that you don't have to include every photo you took, and you can always include a few inserts!

Congrats to Taffy, you won last week's giveaway! Please email michelle@shopellesstudio.com the following info to claim your prize:
