Welcome back to sketch Thursday! Today's sketch is a simple but playful one inspired by Rahel's Photography layout from the DT Gallery.

I love Rahel's style so of course, I took this opportunity to be completely inspired by her ;) I used some of the same elements she did, like the banners, doilies, twine and leaves...

Our new products are here: new tags, stamps + workshop!

We are so excited to announce that we have new tags in the shop! We've got an entire, brand new, summer line called Summer Lovin'! This has to be my favorite launch to date - the colors are so amazing, perfect for summer and more - the best part about this line is how versatile it is. Each tag set contains tags that not only work for all your summer projects, but for everyday projects, too!

But, it's not just all Summer! We added some bonus tags in this launch -we have a fun 3 x 4 tag set called Quotables, some tiny tag labels, and more Lil' Snippets!

There are also two stamps available! We had so many requests to make stamps, after we started making them for the project kits, so we are very excited to bring you these two you:

Project Life

 This week's Project Life covers the week of May 14-20.

This week was a big week for us-- the last day of school!!!  This is also my last page in particular album.  I love how that worked out (although I probably should have switched over a few weeks earlier because it's REALLY full-- hence the mega glare).

I focused quite a bit on our transition from school to summer in this Project Life layout.  Like I mentioned last week, I think taking a few highlights and focusing on those, is a great way to complete a week.  

I had quite a few Instagram photos from this week, so I placed them in a We R Memory Keepers 4x4 insert and trimmed it down to fit only four photos on each side.  

I also included notes from both of my kids teachers, along with some school name tags, and photos with teachers.   

I grabbed a photo of my husband's Facebook wall and included it in Project Life.

A Special Summer Sneak Peek

With summer right around the corner, we are very excited to announce that our next product launch will be debuting this Thursday, May 31st! This launch has to be one of my favorites so far! I am in love with the colors in the line, the fonts and elements used and how everything goes so nicely together. I am also loving how we mixed in everyday + summer, so for every set of tags there are tags for summer layouts, but also tags that will work with any other kind of topic! It is so versatile!

Also, for this next release, Jenni has cooked up something special, too! Are you ready to document your summer? Here's a little sneak of the incredible thing she has coming:

Everything will be up for sale in our shop this Thursday, at 9:00 am PST - make sure you are on our newsletter list to be the first to know! Also, if you have signed up for our newsletter in the past, and not received it, please sign-up again! We have switched to a new service, so that shouldn't happen anymore ;)

Make It Sunday with Stephanie Klauck

Hi I'm Stephanie and I am really excited to be on the blog to share my Make it Sunday during the new website celebration week! Doesn't it look great?!? Huge congrats to Elle and the whole Elle's Studio team for all their hard work putting together this awesome week of fun and prizes!

A little about me…. I am a wife of 1 and mother of 2. ;-) When I'm not working or hanging with the family I spend my time crafting and enjoying other interests like reading, Nascar, TV shows on DVD and relaxing on my swing outside. I have been crafting since around 2003 and really enjoy scrapbooking as well as card making.

For my Make It Sunday layout, I decided to share something fun I like to do with my Elle's Studio tags that I did on this layout.

I like to layer my tags with various elements and sometimes they don't overlap how I want. You can see on the photo below that the cloud covers the words on my tag:

To fix that, I cut the 'Hello Summer' banner out of the tag so I can actually put the cloud under that part and layer it back on top:

When I put it on my layout, I adhered the tag and the cloud and then I added the 'Hello Summer' part with foam adhesive back to where it originally was in the tag:

I then added various tags on different parts of the page to complete the layout.

My challenge for you today, and the final challenge of our website kick-off party, is to add some layers!!

One of my favorite things about Elle's Studio tags is that they are so versatile.  One of the many ways they can be used on your layouts/projects is as a layering item.   For this challenge use anything-- an Elle's Studio product, pattern paper, photos, ANYTHING... and layer!

Layering can give your layout or project dimension.  It's an easy way to "embellish".  Whenever I feel that my layout needs something extra, I add a few layers!  For this layout I used the Noted Journaling Circle Tags, and the Handmade Layers Large Journaling Tags.

Challenge #3 is a fun, colorful one. I'm challenging you to use bright colors + shapes (any shape of your choice). On my layout, I punched out circles, squares and triangles from different (bright!) patterned papers to create the background, then embellished with tags, brads wood veneers, doilies, etc... whew! :)

Kim said: When I saw the sketch I took inspiration from the circles however I have modified it slightly and made my circle elements part of my embellishments instead of being the main design. I utilized Elle's round tags for these elements! lots of fun.

Valerie said: When I first saw the sketch, I thought the large banner shape was an envelope turned upside down - so that's what I used to anchor my photos. Other than that element, I did not stray very far from the original design - which had a great cluster of elements and lots of white space. Two of my favorite things!
