well...considering we dont celebrate the 4th here i am working nights! but it wont be too bad; our matron at work is retiring so those of us who are working are getting money for a take-away. i just hope we get time to eat it this time!

Since I live in Sweden we don't celebrate 4th of July, BUT, if I was to be in the US I would just hang out with friends, have a great bbq and watch the fire works!
Happy 4th!

I will be missing my family and wishing they were closer. I will also be making too much food, being that there will only be 2 of us eating. But here is the menu: Home-made chicken tenders (we don't have a bbq, let alone a yard), Grandma's Coleslaw and Granny's macaroni and cheese. And desert will be raspberries and blueberries with vanilla whipped-cream and sweet buscuits. Can you tell I am hungry?

I think they light the fireworks off from the golf course near our house, so I'm hoping we can just put our lawn chairs in the backyard and watch the fireworks. Other plans include grilling some brats, making some cards and crafting, and grading a big pile of summer school papers.

Since I'm Canadian, the 4th of July isn't a holiday for me. I'm going to spend it doing the usual chores, although we might go visit some friends in the evening.

We are actually just lounging around the house and setting off a few fireworks in the evening. We celebrated a little early with a trial camping trip and we just got back today. We took our 3 kids (age 6 and under) for the first time ever, and dh and I hadn't been in 8 years (since before kids obviously!). It went so well we are already planning our next one! So tomorrow we are resting :)

Kirsten W. said...

Actually, we'll be cleaning house since we're expecting lots of company over the weekend. Hopefully we can make some time for a grilled out dinner and some evening relaxation, too. Thanks for the giveaway!

Since my family is away leaving me home alone, I will finish painting my husbands new office, then perhaps rent a movie or scrapbook. Probably scrapbook. I will eat some ice-cream and take a nice swim and watch the fireflies then take a warm bath before settling in early. Sounds dreamy does it not.

I get to work. I get holiday pay so it's not all bad, then I have to work a dreaded double on the 5th. My normal shift 230-1030pm then the NOC shift from 1030pm-630am. Yeah! Not!

We went to an orchestra concert near the large fountain downtown in my hometown. They used to have free strawberry shortcake when I was a kid, but there was an e.coli breakout in the early 80s in the strawberries, so they stopped. Boooooooo! :)

We were invited to a friend's house for a cookout and fireworks, but they are calling for storms, so we are going to spend time with family at a cookout where the weather can't interfere.
Can't wait to see what's new!
