Ken Griffey Jr. returns to seattle...

This weekend was the BEST weekend ever!!!

First off, a little history: In 1995, I became a huge Seattle Mariners fan, with my favorite Mariner being Ken Griffey Jr. In 1999, Griffey's contract was up, and he was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. Very sad day, I still kept his posters on my wall and I even got a Reds jersey with his name on it for my birthday.

Now, fast forward to Friday, June 22nd. GRIFFEY RETURNED TO SEATTLE!!! It was a rare happening since the Mariners and Reds are on different leagues, so I had to jump at this once in a lifetime chance. I went to Friday and Sundays nights game and had a blast!! All the games were sold out and the spirit of Seattle was back! Griffey brought that spirit back, it was just like the good ole' days. He received standing ovations at every at bat and most times when he took his position in the field. On Sunday, he homered twice, breaking the record for 7th place in career homeruns. After the games were over, he was interviewed and said that we would like to finish his career in Seattle, before he retires!!! AHHHHH that would be SOOOO cool! I'd get season tickets, even if it put me in the poor house :)

At the game, I saw a guy with a sign that said "bringgriffeyback.com" and, of course, had to check it once I got home. It's an online petition to show how much us Seattle people would like Griffey to return. You should sign the petition for me :)

taking pictures ... and what does tomorrow bring?

I've been really frustrated with my photos lately! They just seem so blah and blurry when they get uploaded to this blog or to etsy. They look go BEFORE uploaded though! I swear!! So, these pictures are some tests ... how do they look? Opinions anyone?? These pictures are totally summer! Summer is here and it's very lovely!

Tomorrow, something totally amazing is happening. It's something I have been waiting for since 1999 and I'll bet NO ONE can figure it out :) It's totally absurd (if you don't know me personally) but totally cool! I'll have pictures up on Saturday from Friday's festivities ;) Oh! Feel free to guess what it is!!!!

it's scrapin' time!

I was SOO inspired the other day that I pulled out my supplies and sat down to do a page. It was relaxing and so much fun! I do admit, I'm a little rusty and need to get back into the grove with my scrapin' style! I also need to go to my LSS and pick up some more supplies!! I need lots of options when I scrap :) I did use some tags from my shop, those were fun!

I have the best dad in the world! Lemon is his favorite flavor (along with blueberry! What is it with dad's and strange combinations?!) so I made him a lemon cake, with lemon cool whip frosting (the best frosting in the world!) and topped it with lemon zest and a mint leaf. I'm not sure if mint goes with it, but in my head I thought it would be great presentation. I don't think it turned out quite as good as it looked "in my head" but I'm still pretty happy with it and can't wait to take a bite!!

On another note, I've been checking out tons of scrapbookers blogs and it has totally given me soooo much inspiration! I have to get back into scrapbooking again! I've been on a scrapbooking break for about 3 months now and I miss it!! It's very hard to find time, but now I'm just going to make time to do it :)

time just seems to fly!

This weekend I had BIG plans, but it all seemed to fly out the window... There is just not enough time in the day anymore! I still haven't been able to get to those scrapbook papers to make something out of them... but maybe this week! :)

Friday, my package from smeeta arrived and I was soooo excited! Here's a picture of what it contents:

Her tape is just sooo cute and fun I had to order more! But these tapes are special ... why you ask? Well, these are going in my packages as little "thank yous" for my orders from etsy!!!! I'm so excited to be able to share this tape with everyone!! I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I do. *These tapes will only be available while supplies last...

I was also able to cut and package all my items on Friday night, after going to graduation, and got everything ready for Saturday, when I posted everything in the shop. The response was AMAZING!! Thank you to everyone who ordered!!

I'll post more pictures later of all my items in there packages, they really do look cute in their little bags :) And I'm also hoping to retake pictures of some of my items. When I took the pictures, that are in the shop now, of my items it was a little gray outside and I'm just not happy with the way the pictures look...

shhhh ... sneak peak at the prototypes...

Here’s a sneak peak at some up coming items that will be in the shop this weekend. I got the prototypes from the printers last night and only had a few color tweaks! I’m excited to get these in there, but I thought I’d give you the first look!

I’m also planning on scrapbooking this weekend with my papers and goodies (since I didn’t get to it last weekend) that I bought last weekend, in between going to graduation, a graduation party, a friends bbq AND my sister’s (casino) party! Lots to do this weekend, but I think one of those nights I may pull an all-nighter, just like the good ol’days!

Today I was able to stop by my LSS and pick up some new papers! I was totally excited when I saw that they had the new “Love, Elsie” paper line in stock and I grabbed all I could!!! I also stopped at the paint store to pick up some primer for a little house project and picked up some paint chips! I just love paint chips and have started, almost, “collecting” them!! I need to stop really, I’m running out of ways to use them, but really how could you pass up these? The colors are beautiful and the names of the paint are just soooo clever!

I’ll be making some MORE paper flowers and maybe some cute little homemade cards, too, this weekend for my etsy shops showcase this coming Tuesday. And, I’ve been working on a new line of journaling tags that will be launching soon! I’m just waiting to get the call from the printers :)
